Competive Athletics 2009

Since the beginning of Term 4, all classes have been training hard for the Competive Athletics Day at Growers Stadium. Weither it be at team sport, or Year group atletics training, everyone joined in with the training leading up to the event. On Tuesday 17th Novemeber, all competitive athletes walked to the Stadium. The weather was not good, and the rain started to spit. But it soon cleared up for the events. The day got under way with the start of track events, 1500m. The field events were running hrough the whole day in the middle of the track. There were some extraoridinary efforts, and well earned placings and records. Grace Gill was the star of the day, betting the Auckland Champion to Champion High Jump record by 10cm.
